Thriving, learning and equity are terms that are frequently used in discussions about youth outcomes, youth opportunities and system and societal responsibilities.  They are incredibly important concepts that have deep research bases that should inform policy, practice and public opinion. Casual usage, however, has weakened their value as goals.  They are buzzwords defined more by user interests than by links to research and also to the realities of daily life.  This devolution is not just unfortunate, it is problematic. This workshop will discuss convergent definitions, present compelling new research (including focus group findings) and facilitate table discussions to help participants curate their own examples of why these goals have to be linked.
