Adolescent brain development research provides clear evidence that the human brain continues to develop well into an individual’s twenties. It is during adolescence that we experience a second critical window of development filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and healing different from both early childhood and adulthood. Facilitators will include a young person and will engage participants interactively to help bridge the understanding of adolescent brain science with practical ways to meaningfully support young people who have experienced foster care. Presenters will review findings from a recent national consensus report and related resources from the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative.
